Students from the Game Development Faculty at MDS are now in pre-production on their final 6-month game project and they just got personal tutoring from James Everett, game designer at New Zealand's biggest games studio - Sidhe Interactive.

James Everett, originally from Canada, has been with Sidhe Interactive since April 2008 and has been working in the games industry since 2001.

With his experience in game design, leading design teams, pitches, and as a supporter of clear communication between disciplines and departments, his expertise will be really valuable to the students.

Luke Te Hira, the team's lead designer says, ?James from Sidhe was in today giving the team some pointers and helping us to identify possible risk areas for the team. The day and night cycle for the game seems to be a winner!?

Kyall Thompson, Game Art senior tutor believes having James Everett at MDS is, “invaluable for the students. They have just said he has helped no ends and really helped focus their ideas and game design.”

With the Game Design Document and the Technical Design Document being developed and written at the moment by the team of 13, more on their design ideas and concepts will be revealed in the next few weeks. In the meantime, you can follow their progress on their blog.
