Dr. Mike Watts
Programme Coordinator - Bachelor of Information Technology
Mike has worked in the tertiary sector for almost 25 years. He has a PhD in artificial intelligence from the University of Otago and has held research and teaching positions in New Zealand and Australia in the fields of artificial intelligence and computational ecology.
Mike is a Senior Member of the IEEE, and an experienced researcher with almost 100 academic publications to his credit and an h-index of 21. He currently serves as area editor for the journal Evolving Systems, and as an associate editor for Soft Computing and Complex and Intelligent Systems.
Mike has previously been a Head of Department, where he designed and implemented several new qualifications including a Post-graduate Diploma and Master's in IT.
