It explores the partnership between Adobe and the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, showcasing how Adobe technologies are instrumental in rescuing the missing and solving crimes. Attendees will gain insights into techniques used for image analysis and enhancement, learn about how tools from Adobe Experience Cloud are used in missing children cases, and the important role content authentication and literacy will play in the future. The discussion will also cover unexpected career paths in this field, demonstrating how artistic, engineering, and analytical skills can be leveraged to make a positive impact on society.

John Penn II, Senior Architect for Law Enforcement Technologies at Adobe, Inc in San Jose, California, has spent over four decades writing software and 25 years at Adobe. His first eleven years were spent working as a Senior Computer Scientist on Photoshop. But after attending the first Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Conference, John was so profoundly affected by what he heard that he moved into what has become the most challenging, rewarding chapter of his career: helping locate missing and exploited children around the world. Focusing on the role software can play in the prevention and investigation of internet crimes against children, John has helped develop advanced victim identification tools and techniques and train law enforcement around the world on their implementation. He currently works with governments, law enforcement, non-profits and industry around the world on tackling the technical challenges associated with combatting crimes against children. John is focused on using a wide variety of technologies to make a difference in the space including using Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Audition in the investigation of digital media based evidence in exploitation cases. as well as using Adobe Experience Cloud and technologies like Analytics and Target to help find missing children, and providing better ways to reach minority and underserved communities. Though he works around the world, John’s is dedicated to supporting the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in Alexandria, Virginia in his role as a board member, assisting with the technical challenges they face, and working in support of the NCMEC mission that "Every Child Deserves a Safe Childhood"
