AdSchool Graduates and their Award Winning Campaign: Fight for Territory
Jacob Newton & Josep Jover, 2016 AdScool graduates, were recently involved in Fight for Territory; A first-of-its-kind campaign which completely dominated Auckland Airport and transformed it into a real time battleground. Travellers “claimed their territory” in support of their rugby team - the All Blacks or British & Irish Lions.
Jacob & Josep both attended AdSchool in 2016, and since then, have skilfully sculpted themselves within the industry. They have both worked at DDB (one of New Zealand's most affluent advertising agencies) for the past 15 months, helping to pioneer a range of groundbreaking campaigns.
During the Axis awards, the campaign picked up two Golds; one for 'Creative Use of Media' and another for 'Out of Home Special Build'. In addition to these accolades, the D&AD Awards sent them home with three renowned Wood Pencil awards for the following categories; 'Out-of-Home', 'Tech Led' & 'Use of Interaction'.
"It was a unique challenge and an awesome opportunity to get in our first year on the job. Being part of a project at the heart of the Lions tour was pretty special, and seeing the idea come to life was hugely exciting. We got to work alongside a great team and learned a whole lot along the way, which was an invaluable experience for us."
The velocity at which these two have travelled within the industry is a testament to their craft, and we watch in awe as their careers continue to transpire.
