Making World-Class Creative Education More Accessible: New Scholarships for International Students
Media Design School is excited to announce two brand-new scholarship opportunities designed to make our globally recognised creative technology programmes more accessible to international students.
From May 2025, international students enrolling in selected programmes will benefit from significant tuition reductions - making it easier than ever to kickstart a world-class education in design, tech, and creativity right here in the heart of Auckland.
New Tuition Fee Reductions
To support future game developers, software engineers, and IT specialists, MDS is offering a new reduced tuition structure for international students enrolling in our technology-focused programmes. This includes up to 30% off the standard tuition fees for the following degrees:
- Bachelor of Information Technology
- Bachelor of Software Engineering (Artificial Intelligence)
- Bachelor of Software Engineering (Game Programming)
These new rates will take effect for all international students from May 2025 onwards.
30% Scholarship for Creative Programmes
A second initiative will offer a 30% scholarship for all international students enrolling in a wide range of creative programmes throughout 2025. Whether you're just starting out or pursuing postgraduate studies in design, this scholarship aims to empower more aspiring creatives from around the world to access our hands-on, industry-led education.
Eligible programmes include:
- Foundation Studies
- Bachelor of Art & Design (3D Animation & VFX)
- Bachelor of Media Design
- Bachelor of Creative Technologies (Game Art)
- Graduate Diplomas in Creative Technologies and Creative Advertising
- Postgraduate Diploma in Design
- Master of Design
This scholarship applies to either the first year of study or the full duration of shorter programmes, helping ease the financial barrier to studying abroad.
Alumni Scholarship – International
We're also proud to introduce the Alumni Scholarship – International, available to MDS graduates who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and commitment during their undergraduate studies. This scholarship offers a 30% tuition reduction toward one year of postgraduate study - ideal for those looking to deepen their expertise and take the next step in their creative journey.
