Nesian Future Design Competition & Exhibition
If you're a talented Maori or Pasifika creative aged 16+, and you're looking to showcase your artistic talent, this is your chance! MDS are excited to announce our upcoming Nesian Futures Exhibition. Simply enter your creative piece to be displayed in our November exhibition, and you could be in to win all sorts of amazing prizes!
Get your creative fingers moving & design a "snapshot" of what your NZ home town will look like with the growing population of Pasifika & Maori people & cultures. You can choose between graphic design, concept art or traditional art to express yourself.
Please also attach a short essay about your background and your submitted piece to provide us with the context of your work.
Who: 16 years & over AND of Pasifika/Maori heritage
Submission Dates: Open from Monday 21st October to Friday 31st of January 2020
What to submit: Print-ready (high-resolution) A3 sized artwork & written essay

Prize: Monetary prizes, computer equipment & scholarships to be won!
Prizes Awarded: Overall winners, 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place.
Terms & Conditions
To be eligible to submit your work to the Nesian-Futures Design Exhibition you need to be at least 16 years of age and over and be of Pasifika or Maori heritage.
The Artist must submit examples of their own original work, that they have created and have the right to submit and publish through the Entry Page.
All intellectual property remains the right of the student, though Media Design School may use these images (with proper accreditation to the Artist) for promotional purposes in relation to the Nesian-Futures Design Exhibition and Pasifika and Maori cultures at Media Design School.
The submissions will be judge by the Nesian-Futures Design Exhibition Panel as appointed by the Media Design School. The judging will take place between TBC. The judging panel’s determination of the award recipients will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Media Design School’s decision on all matters regarding the Nesian-Futures Design Exhibition is final and no further correspondence will be entered into. Media Design School reserves the right to extend, change or terminate the Nesian-Futures Design Exhibition at any time. Media Design School and the Nesian-Futures Design Exhibition accept no responsibility for entry submissions not received for any reason.
If your work is chosen to be on exhibit at our Exhibition Day, we will be in touch to inform you between these dates: TBC.
Winners of the Nesian-Futures Design Exhibition will be notified by email on the day on which the winners are announced or as soon as possible thereafter. The prizes awarded by the Nesian-Futures Design Exhibition are not transferable or exchangeable and Media Design School reserves the right to forfeit the prize if not claimed.
The Nesian-Futures Design Exhibition is open to New Zealand citizens or residents only.
Entry is deemed acceptance of these terms and indicates that the Artists had comprehensive read, and agreed to, all the aforementioned conditions.
